Exercise is one of the most important things that we can do on a regular basis, as it comes with loads of health benefits that ensure that our overall well-being is in good shape. When we exercise, we’re doing so much more than burning calories in order to look good in our bathing suits by the time summer comes around. We’re boosting the performance of every bodily system, including the heart, endocrine system, immune system, circulatory system, respiratory system and more.
That being said, you can understand why it’s so dangerous to avoid exercise altogether. Those who don’t exercise have a higher risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cognitive decline, general illness and obesity. Therefore, it’s extremely important that we find ways to develop and maintain the motivation to work out.
But, let’s be realistic for a second. A lot of us, if not most of us, struggle to really look forward to those regular fitness routines. They say that twenty minutes of exercise five times a week is ideal, but how many of us actually follow this advice? The truth is that a lack of motivation, low energy, stress and fatigue can all interfere with our desire to maintain a healthy fitness regimen. To make matters worse, many people deal with some form of chronic pain, and this can greatly interfere with a person’s desire to exercise at all, let alone five times on a weekly basis.
One thing that’s often used to boost the desire to work out is some type of performance enhancer. But, as we know, most of these are dangerous, and, at the very least, come with some unwanted side effects. However, there is one new product that lots of people are finding helps them maintain a healthy exercise routine, and it’s CBD.
CBD is something that most of us are familiar with by now, as it has become a massively successful market. However, many people think that CBD is only good for those dealing with everyday stresses. This is not the case. Lots of people are finding ways to use CBD in a number of areas in their life, with fitness being just one of them.
If you’re completely unfamiliar with CBD, let us break it down for you quickly. CBD is a cannabinoid, which is a class of compounds found in the hemp plant. It’s non-psychoactive, and it has been the subject of many clinical studies as of late. CBD comes in many forms, and many people take it on a daily basis as part of their wellness routines.
Energy, Stress and the Motivation to Work Out
So, we all know that exercise is important. But, despite this, so many of us fail to commit to a consistent fitness routine. Why is that the case? Well, much of it can be blamed on modern life. The large majority of us have stressful jobs and are at the office for long hours at a time. When we come home, we have to feed ourselves, spend time with our family and try to maintain a social life amidst all of this. Now, you can understand why so many people fail to see where exercise could possibly fit into the daily grind.
Three factors that can contribute to a failure to work out are low energy levels, high stress and a lack of motivation. In fact, all three of these traits intensify each other, meaning that those who are already stressed out or overexerted will have low energy and motivation due to the functions of the cognitive system.
The Importance of Proper Recovery After a Workout Session
Another important factor when it comes to workout out is recovery. Even if we do find the motivation and strength to commit to a daily fitness routine, many times, we have to take a step back due to fatigue and muscle strain caused by particularly grueling sessions. The more intense your workout routine, the more your body needs to rest afterward in order to heal itself. This is especially the case for weight-trainers, as this type of exercise tears the muscles so that they can rebuild into stronger, larger ones. Without the proper chance to recover, that next-day soreness can turn into a legitimate injury.
Boost Your Workout with CBD
Now, we can talk about the relationship between CBD and fitness. As you know, CBD is a plant compound, meaning that it’s completely natural in origin. And, one thing that makes CBD unique compared to other natural products is that it works with the body’s endocannabinoid system because it is classified as a cannabinoid, which is a unique type of plant compound.
The endocannabinoid system seems to play a huge role in the maintenance of homeostasis. This means a state in which all of the body’s important systems and processes are functioning properly in perfect harmony. The endocannabinoid system utilizes a system of cannabinoid receptors that are located all throughout the body. Each cannabinoid receptor utilizes cannabinoids to regulate a particular bodily process, such as pain, mood and energy.
Now that you know how the endocannabinoid system works, you can understand what all of this has to do with working out. It seems that the endocannabinoid system may have a lot to do with how motivated, energized, optimistic and focused we feel.
Making CBD Part of Your Workout Routine
Now that you have a clearer idea of the relationship between CBD and working out, what’s next? Well, let’s talk about how you can incorporate this cannabinoid into your daily routine. The most important thing to do is make sure that you’re buying your CBD from a legitimate company that has their batches of hemp tested by a third-party. Then, we suggest taking CBD on a daily basis, as this allows the cannabinoids to build up in the endocannabinoid system. You may wish to take a higher strength than average if your body weight is on the higher end of the spectrum.
