Are Hemp Flowers legal?
Hemp flower produced by industrial hemp is legal in all 50 states. By federal law, hemp cannot contain more than 0.3% THC. When the Cannabis Sativa plant contains more than 0.3% THC it is no longer considered ‘hemp,’ and cannot be marketed as such. All of the strains of CBD hemp flower sold by CBD American Shaman contain THC levels below this threshold. We test our flower in our in-house lab and also send it out for 3rd party testing to ensure the legality and quality of our buds.
What are the benefits of Hemp Flower?
The many great benefits of CBD hemp flower that people have reported include relaxation, improved clear-mindedness, and more. It has been known to provide a relaxing and “chill” experience without the more intense and intoxicating effects associated with the high of its sister plant, marijuana.
The effects of smoking hemp CBD flower will vary depending on the strain you choose. A strain high in CBD will support feelings of relaxation and clear-mindedness, while a strain high in CBG will tend to support a productive focus. The variety of CBD flower strains available allows you to choose the best flavor, potency, and terpene profile for you.
CBG or CBD flower can be great to add to your wellness routine. Smoking hemp CBD flower will not get you high, as it contains very low levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is found in high concentrations in marijuana.
How is Hemp Flower measured?
Cannabis flower is traditionally measured by weight in grams and ounces. Our unprocessed hemp flower is sold in packages of 3.5 grams, or an eighth of an ounce. This amount of flower is usually enough for a few joints or a few servings of your preferred way to smoke. We also offer pre-rolled CBD joints and classic filtered CBD Cigarettes which are a convenient way to smoke CBD without having to prepare it yourself.
Does Hemp CBD Flower have buds?
Yes, flowering hemp plants do produce buds when the hemp flower reaches full bloom. These buds grow in clusters known as cola. These buds are the part of the hemp plant that contain the highest concentrations of cannabinoids and terpenes. To the naked eye, hemp CBD buds are virtually indistinguishable from marijuana.
Can you smoke Hemp Flower?
Smoking hemp CBD flower enables you to take advantage of the entourage effect, which is the combined effects of the plant’s phytocannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids—all working together synergistically. Because our cannabis flower contains less than 0.3% THC (as required by law) our buds won’t get you stoned. You can smoke hemp CBD bud in a pipe, or roll up a hemp joint. Check out our How To Roll A Joint guide. Or, smoke hemp in the familiar form of CBD cigarettes with a variety of product flavors from CBD American Shaman.
Can you use Hemp Flower in Edibles?
Yes! Hemp flower can be used successfully in your favorite recipes. Something to keep in mind, however, is baking hemp flower. In order to activate the beneficial CBD in hemp buds, they must be heated.
To prepare your hemp buds to add to a recipe, place your hemp flower on a parchment lined baking sheet. From there, heat them in the oven at 260° F for an hour or two until gently browned. Your buds don’t need to be fully burnt to activate (and they won’t taste great in a recipe if they are).
If you don’t love the taste of CBD flower, CBD isolate is a great way to add the effects of CBD to a recipe without any unwanted flavors or textures.
Does Hemp Flower contain CBD?
Yes, hemp flowers are often high in CBD (cannabidiol) and low in THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). These two molecules are known as phytocannabinoids, or cannabis-like compounds found in plants. In hemp strains high in CBG, or cannabigerol, typically less CBD and THC are present. That’s because CBG is the “mother cannabinoid” that turns into CBD and THC as the plant matures. By encouraging higher levels of CBG in the final product, less of the other two phytocannabinoids are present. Our high quality cannabis flower strains are rich with CBD and CBG, and provide optimal potency.

Does Hemp CBD Flower contain THC?
The short answer is yes, CBD hemp flower does contain some THC, though our hemp flower strains all contain less than 0.3% THC by weight, as mandated by the 2018 Farm Bill. This low level of THC won’t get you high or stoned. So although THC is known for its psychoactive effects, CBD flower will not produce any psychoactive experiences.
